When the criteria is used, one of the values from the corresponding range provides the other argument. If you are putting the criteria in a cell, which you reference from the function as you are doing in your post , you simply put the criteria in the cell, typing it as shown. Theoretically, if you are simply looking for a match to a constant value that is, your half-expression begins with an equal sign , you can just put in the value; so using just the number should work.
On the other hand, in many cases — particularly when you are entering the criteria directly in the function — you will want to enclose the criteria in quotes. Perhaps you could try reducing the ranges. Another step I might take is to try removing one of the criteria and the associated range.
