In an interview during her grooming, she said, "The only thing I believe is certain in life is uncertainty and this is what is amazing about the pageant. Following a new format this year, the beauty pageant toured 30 states across the country and young girls have participated from various places like Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand among others.
This is the first time the participants wore Indian dress at the finale designed by Manish Malhotra. Sana Dua who hails from Jammu and Kashmir came in second at the competition and had finished her schooling from Army Public School in Delhi. Sana Dua has studied from the Department of Law, Punjab University and enjoys outdoor sports like tennis and travelling. The second runners up of the Miss India was Miss Bihar, Priyanka Kumari and the multi-talented model has various interests like Yoga, meditation, playing basketball and hockey.
